Mental health and wellbeing is an area that has been of more and more concern in recent decades as the rates of mental health problems continue to rise. Theories abound as to why this is happening.
Just as each of us is completely unique, there are also many different paths to mental wellbeing. Working as a Psychologist and researching holistic mental health has given me a deep insight into the ways in which mental health difficulties develop and can be positively impacted.
On Saturday the 7th of July I will be doing a free talk on Holistic Mental Wellbeing at Kamala, a support and wellbeing group for people struggling with mental health issues in Hamilton. We will have a look at the social context for mental health difficulties in New Zealand, and then I will explain the basics of holistic mental wellbeing. We will then have a look at the evidence for holistic approaches to cultivating mental health, and there will be time at the end for a question and answer session.
I believe this information belongs to all people, and it brings me great joy to share it!
