Mental health and wellbeing is an area that has been of more and more concern in recent decades as the rates of mental health problems continue to rise. Theories abound as to why this is happening.
Just as each of us is completely unique, there are also many different paths to mental wellbeing. Working as a Psychologist and researching holistic mental health has given me a deep insight into the ways in which mental health difficulties develop and can be positively impacted.
On the 4th of April I will be doing a free talk on Holistic Mental Wellbeing. This approach is based on mental wellbeing being cultivated by attention to the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental aspects of life. We will have a look at the social context for mental health difficulties in New Zealand, and then I will explain the basis of holistic mental wellbeing. We will then have a look at the evidence for holistic approaches to cultivating mental health, and there will be time at the end for a question and answer session.
I believe this information belongs to all people, and it brings me great joy to share it!
